Votorantim Cimentos leads the Transparency International ranking
Votorantim Cimentos leads the ranking of a study conducted by Transparency International and released on 01/30/2018. The survey "Transparency in Corporate Reports" evaluates the 100 largest companies and 10 banks in the country.
For the first time, the study considers three aspects to evaluate the level of corporate transparency of companies: the way they disclose their information about anticorruption practices; the organizational structure and the financial data related to the performance in other countries.
"Although the research shows that there is a correlation between transparency and companies with publicly traded shares, Votorantim Cimentos stands out as a good example among privately held companies by exceeding the general average, reflecting our global commitment to ethics, compliance and transparency, "says Osvaldo Ayres, CFO of Votorantim Cimentos.
In 2017, employees from all the countries in which Votorantim Cimentos operates completed the training of the company's Code of Conduct, whose compliance program was monitored even more effectively, with careful indicators. The company has also established a donations and sponsorship committee and has globally strengthened its gift, entertainment, conflict of interest and anticorruption policies.
Votorantim Cimentos, as well as Neoenergia, in the electricity sector, reached an average of 10 in the survey, obtaining a maximum score in compliance with both criteria evaluated: anticorruption program and organizational transparency. The survey used the database published by Valor 1000, organized by the newspaper Valor Econômico.
"We believe that the responsibility to act with compliance increases our operational efficiency, the quality of our products and services and is fundamental to building lasting relationships," says Ayres.
